Born in Athens, she studied film and drama at the L. Stavrakos School (1990-1992). In 1993 she pursued her studies in London, taking the Media Foundation Course at the London College of Printing in 1993 and receiving a BA (Hons) degree in Contemporary Media Practice from the University of Westminster in 1996. From 1994 to 1999 she worked as editor and producer for her own post-production company, Iris Film, in London.
