Born in Athens in 1961. He studied sculpture at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts until 1982 when he was admitted at the "Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia", in Rome. There he studied cinematography with Gianni Amelio, Marco Leto, Furio Scarpelli and others. Ιn 1987 he began to make documentaries for Greek television, some of which won awards at Greek and international festivals.
