He was born in 1960 in Athens, Greece. He took Theoretical Studies of Cinema, TV & Theatre at the J.-W.-Goethe-Universitat Frankfurt / M. Educated as Cameraman at The German Broadcasting Corporation ARD/HR. Studies (Department: Fiction & TV Drama) at the State Academy for Television & Film, Munich, where he later on taught as Assistant Professor at the same department.

His films participated in many International Film Festivals as, the Venice International Film Festival 1998 (in Competition), Cannes International Film Festival 1999 (KODAK SHOW CASE FOR YOUNG TALENTS), and were awarded with high distinctions among others with the GERMAN STATE FILM AWARD (FILM MEDAL IN GOLD, and Nomination), the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau Award in Germany and with the STATE AWARDS of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and distinctions by the Greek Film Centre.
