Yiannis Lapatas "THE RIGHT POCKET OF THE PRIEST'S CLOTH"
Based on the novel by Yannis Makridakis.
Τhe night the Archbishop died, Sissy had three puppies; they looked like little chubby mice. Vincent had his mind set on her for days. He was waiting. He had no more walnuts in his frock's pocket. To and fro in the monastery, Sissy walked behind him, breathing heavily, pregnant and all, keeping him company in the kitchen, in the churchyard, in the weedy gardens and the terrace with the crosses. Vincent, a solitary monk, mourns over the loss of Sissy, dead before her time, while the people and the Church mourn over the death of the Archbishop.
Then, while the heads of the Church are engaged in the holly and unholly procedure for the election of the next "heir to the throne," he is doing everything he can to keep at least one of Sissy's newborn "heirs" alive.

Nikos Grammatikos "27 DEGREES EAST"
John, in his mid forties, lives a solitary life by choice. He has settled down in a remote, almost deserted village on a small island in the south-eastern part of the Aegean sea. He earns his living on fishing, doing construction-work and all kinds of odd jobs...It is summer and his daughter is due to arrive and spend some time with him, like she does every summer; she lives in Munich with her mother the rest of the year. However, instead of his daughter, John finds an illegal immigrant washed on his shore – a young woman in her late twenties, who has managed to swim away to the shore just when the port authorities were collecting her fellow travellers in order to transport them to the island's main town. When John sees them bunked in the schoolyard and finds out that they're most likely to be deported, he resolves to help the young woman. He was an immigrant himself in the past, so he knows first hand what it is like to struggle for a better future. He didn't make it, because no one was there to help him. But she can make it, because he is there to help her. As the woman slowly comes to her senses, thanks to his nursing, John has already started making plans for the future. They may not speak the same language, but that sure doesn't keep him from dreaming of sharing a life with this woman in that desert-island paradise of his... When the woman decides to go on with her journey all the way to the heart of western Europe leaving him behind, he is furious and feels betrayed; he is about to turn her over to the Authorities. Bunked along with her fellow travellers, and then transferred to some Illegal Immigrants Centre in Samos; at that time John found out her whole story, why she set out for such a long adventure in the first place. Full of guilt, he drops everything, jumps on his fishing boat and off to the open sea. There, just off the coast of Samos he sets his boat and papers on fire, and begins to swim for the shore – just like an illegal immigrant. He nearly drowns because of the bad weather and the undercurrents; and, finally, is rescued by the Port Authorities, 27 degrees East, on that dividing line which, for most people, marks the passage to a better world. He refuses to answer any question or give any piece of information to the authorities; so, he will be tranferred to the Illegal Immigrants Centre of Samos, and there, among the thousands of desperate people, he will find her again and set out for a better future with her.
